I came to really despise this film, it took years to come to that but I really can't take the technical ineptitude of all the characters, not being collectively being able to understand that you multiply not add the sprockets, and then there's that silencer...

Still no one knows of it. It’s a really great film I saw Michael incoherent talking as what other ears hear when he talks when he’s really not impossible to translate when someone really listens to him. Yeah this film actually has me crying at the end especially when Michaels heart was broken. My favorite movie would be another that not much people mention is War Horse. This film was classic Spielberg and I showed it at work when I was able to play movies during our 1hr break for lunch I played it till the end and two polish ladies at work work crying 😢 at the end and said “good film”

To be honest I didn't like the movie, until you explained it better. The plot was simple but the concept of how bad Donna was using him. I did think it was dirty, but I never caught she wasn't an addict. I thought she was the same and forced to by the system and nearly another used pawn like our supposed protagonist. What I hate about the movie is I want to know what happened after, and wish their was a part to see did he stay the same, or gained his persona, and mental cognitive. I don't know if the writer did this can you let me?

This was very good movie that reflected how war profiteering drifts from Manichean Heresy (far right wing politics) to Albigensian Heresy (far left wing politics) as some people falsely express their faith through their 'political narrative'. For some people their faith is the 'drug' they use to express their hatred and this should have never happened. It appears the U.S. Democrats and the U.S. Republicans have been War Profiteering since they assassinated JFK on November 22, 1963. I am reminded of G. K. When it asks "feel others emotions" how do i answer? If it was phrased " intensely feel others emotions" i would select "disagree" . 10:15 I completely disagree, there are hints of yellow in the hallway at the conclusion of the film and slightly prior to that, the roots of Clementine's hair appears yellow from the light of joel's window instead of greenish, like the scenes on the train. Its there, clear for me, there are hints of yellow/hope at the end... Even the title "sunshine" = yellow, bright future for letting go of the past or having a "spotless mind"

This movie is actually very special to me being a recovering meth and heroin addict I was watching this movie during the depths of my addiction and I can relate a lot to it especially that epilogue by Philip k dick with lines like "permanent psychosis" that resonated a lot with me but to be perfectly honest.. A.S.D has got to be one of the darkest, realest examinations of the cost of addicition I've ever seen. "That chic I like won't do me because she a fed trying to railroad me into rehab for a secret mission" is deep amphetamine psychosis shit. I think it's a mistake to take parts of the story litteraly as they represent a sort of exageration or metaphor for PKDs psychological experiences with substance abuse. Dude did enough speed to see into parallel realities. That kind of thing is hard on relationships.

There aren't any characters for reference. That is, if they had edited with friends opinions the audience would be aware of Joel's sequence. I'd like to see an edited version for clarity, so that UA-cam viewers aren't confused or someone has to watch it twice. Also reading the book, or script would help someone who really enjoyed this story.

I thought this analysis was very well done and reasoned even though i don't agree with several of your arguments personally. However, that is what i love so much about this movie is that everyone views it through the lens of their own life, history, pain, and experiences with love and sees something different. Although it might seem like an oversimplification, the hallway scene at the end is acceptance for both of them. They have heard all the innermost thoughts and criticisms of each other and they realize that they matter but not enough to deter trying again, and this time, armed with knowledge of what failed before. In other words, they both realize that the juice is worth the squeeze.

I always thought Arctors vision was a flashback. In A Scanner Darkly: Behind The Scenes (on youtube), Keanu says Bob Arctor is going down the conceptual path of being a father and having a wife, but he doesn't ever expect it to change or be good. I guess the vision wasn't a flashback but him imagining his potential future. I dunno if it makes more or less sense that way.

I love the art style so much. Looks like if someone animated the art used for the Grand Theft Auto box covers.
